International travel can be an intimidating endeavor, but with the right preparation, you will be ready for the trip of a lifetime!
Please check back frequently to see trips that will be added for 2016.
GENERAL Travel Tips to Get the Most Out of Your Trip:
Pack Light – Many times you will have to carry all of your luggage, backpacks, and possibly a gear bag. The less you bring, the lighter the load!
Plan to leave what you bring – Often times, trips are to areas with high poverty and you may want to leave your clothing behind. What may be old clothes or out of fashion here, will be treasured by those who receive it.
As a general rule of thumb: Don’t Drink the Water unless it is purified, or is bottled & unopened.
Food – Most times, your host has joyfully prepared something (often the very best they have) to bless you. It’s best to not offend and therefore joyfully accept what they have prepared. – Luke 10:8.
Flexibility - the key to any successful mission’s trip
The planning that goes into any mission’s trip is exhaustive, but even the best laid plans can still go awry. If you want to get the most out of your trip, the best advice you can receive is “BE FLEXIBLE and go with the flow.” Remember, this is not a vacation to a resort where you would expect to be waited on hand and foot. You’re going as a servant, so keep a servant’s attitude!
How should I turn in money for trips?
It is the desire of the Life Assembly staff to be good stewards of the finances we have been entrusted with. These policies were developed with that purpose in mind.
All payments for Mission’s Trips should be turned in to the “Magic Box” in the office area. Checks should be made out to Life Assembly. Include your name and trip location in the memo line.
Please do not put missions trip payments in the offering plates.
Supporters may mail checks to Life Assembly, P.O. Box 1709, Mount Juliet, TN 37121, noting the purpose and person for whom it is being given.
You may also deliver your checks in person to the church and give them to designated individual.
