BIBLE TEXT: Psalm 139:1 – “Oh LORD, you have searched me and you know me.”
PERSONAL REFLECTION: I would not necessarily expect God to know me. Sure, He knows I exist (He created me), but He would never take the time to know about me. I’d imagine there are a whole lot of human beings out there who probably warrant His attention more than I. Yet this verse says God has examined my heart and knows everything about me! The psalmist—King David—goes on to write that God sees him no matter where he goes, even if that involves hiding in the deepest corners of the earth.
God, the creator of the universe, understands our hearts—the good and bad. He recognizes the issues existing in our lives and loves us anyway. God’s love for us is so immense that He looks at our lives and desires a relationship. He is like a father watching his children grow up and wanting to be with them every step of the way. The question is, do you want to reciprocate God’s desire? He already knows everything about you, but will you let Him speak into your life and shape it according to His plan?
PRAYER: Lord, you know everything about me. Thank you for the blessing of your love and for the blessing of knowing you. Help me grasp how deep your love for me truly is. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
