BIBLE TEXT: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Revelation 21:4
PERSONAL REFLECTION: Last Sunday morning during praise and worship, I had this vision of what Christ will look standing before us. I’m not talking about the glow, the glory, or His face but this vision of perfect love and peace. I had this vision of arms open wide, waiting to wrap me up in them, arms that would take away all hurts, doubts, fear, and pain; arms that loved me in spite of my weaknesses.
Those arms I saw were the same arms that were wide open for me once before. Arms that spread open on a cross as they were nailed to a tree. Arms that in that very moment were open to love me, forgive me, and hold me if I would only come to them. It made me, in that moment, want to run into them.
PERSONAL APPLICATION: Those arms aren’t only going to be waiting for us when we leave this world and go to this place where death, sorrow, crying, and pain are no more. Those arms are waiting for us now in this world where tragedy strikes, pain and sorrow happen, and crying is common. God is waiting with His arms wide open for you to run into them when dreams are crushed, loved ones are lost, and trouble seems to be all around. He is there to hold us, to lift us up, to give us peace, strength, and comfort, we only have to ask and seek Him.
PRAYER: Father, thank you for a vision that provides me with comfort and peace. Thank you for the sacrifice of your son on that cross, so that I may run to you in time of need. Thank you for the love you give and the strength only you can provide. Help us to run into your arms and allow you to be all that we need, instead of trying to do it all on our own. Thank you for forgiving me and loving me when sometimes it is hard to do myself. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
