BIBLE TEXT: “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “ They are plans for good not disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” –Jeremiah 29:11

PERSONAL REFLECTION:  Here is the short version of my journey to Life Assembly:

In 2010, I was married, living in Bowling Green, Kentucky. My husband worked 80 or more hours per week, I was almost 300 pounds, and I lived in the illusion of happiness. We had not been to church in almost 5 years and I thought everything was good. Little did I know I was way off route. My husband dropped the “I met someone and I want a divorce” bomb. Oh man, talk about a wake up call! Those words led me to pack up and move home to my parents’ house and I began attending church and rekindling my relationship with Jesus.

It was a long, heartbreaking 6 months but I became stronger in my faith. I lost a bunch of weight and became a new woman. During that time, my husband asked us to come back home to him and to a new town he was moving to called Mount Juliet. So we did. Once I arrived in Mount Juliet I remembered a guest speaker that had visited the church I had previously attended — our very own John Driver!!! I don’t remember what he preached (sorry, John) but I do remember that I enjoyed listening to him and that he was a youth pastor at a church in Mount Juliet. So I contacted the church and through John’s very own brother in law I found out the name and address of Life Assembly. The boys and I visited Life Assembly on July 29, 2011 for the first time and we have been here ever since.

God used different people to make sure I felt loved, accepted, and comfortable. I continue my journey and I have gotten “off route” a time or two (or twenty), but I have a great church family who lovingly encourages me to get back on route. I thank God daily for His  love, mercy, and never-ending grace. I love walking this journey called Life with each of you.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank you for bringing me to Mount Juliet and to Life Assembly. I have healed and grown and I pray that my life and story will and can be used to help others. Thank you for my Life family and I ask that you bless each and everyone of them. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen

I am a single mom of 2 great boys. I work at West Elementary as the cafeteria manager. I am the oldest of 11 children and I love to help others.
