Glory in the Sun

BIBLE TEXT:  Isaiah 59:19:  So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.

PERSONAL REFLECTION:  I know that many of us have heard how God will lift up a standard against the enemy, but the Holy Spirit showed me something in this verse that I have never noticed before.  When the sun rises, it strikes fear into His enemies because the rising sun testifies of God’s glory.  Just think. Every morning we are energized by the faithful sun’s rising, but the demons quake.  Don’t you love to watch the sun rise?  Well, the demons of hell hate it because it reminds them that one day their knee will bow acknowledging that the name of Jesus is above every name, and they will confess that “Jesus is Lord.” (Phil 2:9-11)

As a related follow-up, see Judges 5:31.

PERSONAL APPLICATION:  I want to testify of God’s glory just like the rising of the sun by being obedient to do all that He has created me to do.

PRAYER:  God, you are too amazing to comprehend. Your presence is overwhelming. Who am I beside You? Who am I in Your presence? There are no words to describe You. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty.  The whole earth is full if Your glory!  I desperately need you God. Continue using me to open prison doors and set captives free to the glory of God.
