BIBLE TEXT: Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. –Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)
PERSONAL REFLECTION: This week, on vacation with my husband, I felt myself getting caught up in the details. You know, “What if we don’t have time for this activity I planned?” “What if dinner costs 2 dollars more than I budgeted?” “What if the museum has an unannounced event and closes before the scheduled time and we miss it and the world subsequently implodes?” I had classic worry. And through a roundabout way, God let me know that it was time to stop counting, stop planning, to simply worry a bit less. Not strictly about vacation “deadlines” but about everything else that seems worthy of my worry.
I personally spend far too much time worrying, and it’s a nice reminder when God lets you know that He has you in His hands.
PERSONAL APPLICATION: One morning this week, pick your biggest worry of the day and prayerfully hand it over to God.
PRAYER: God, today I am thankful for your faithfulness. Help me remember that you know my worries and guide me through each day. Guide me today. Amen.
