Jaguey Grande, Cuba
Our endeavor. In January of 2011, a group of “Lifers” took a missions trip to Cuba. It was a trip that was envisioned almost 4 years prior. About 16 years ago, Pastor Juan moved to Jaguey Grande, 90 miles outside of Havana, to pastor. He knew no one, but knew that God was leading him there. Within a few months, the Path of Life Church began to develop and it wasn’t long before they began to look for a building to house the growing congregation.
In 2001, they had expanded and things were going well for the Path of Life Church. Then, a hurricane came through and destroyed their building and most of their possessions. However, they would not be dismayed and began constructing another building as time and money would allow. During this time, this church of about 250 people have been crowding into the backyard of Pastor Juan’s house – an area about 30’x30’!
The people of the Path of Life Church had a remarkable impact on our last team. Not one person on that trip came home unchanged. Most have acknowledged that they left part of their heart in Cuba. Life Assembly agreed to partner with the Path of Life Church as they continue construction on their church building. As is always the case, it’s never about the building itself. The people of Path of Life have such a deep faith and you are sure to be impacted beyond your wildest imagination! Over two trips, the final occurring July 17th-25th 2012, a Life Assembly team completed the final elements of the audio/visual setup, delivered musical instruments, lead worship training, and participated in the dedication of the church building on July 21st. And what a celebration it was!
