Doing My Part is the global umbrella for community service aspects of Life Assembly. There are many places and events during the year where you can be involved. Some of the things we did last year were: working on a Habitat home, helping distribute groceries at Joseph’s Storehouse, volunteering at a family shelter, building wheelchair ramps for the elderly, and preparing and serving a meal at the Nashville Rescue mission. Doing My Part Events in May:
Thursdays in the Garden (May 10, 17, and 24)- Come work in the Life Assembly community garden weeding, cultivating, watering, and harvesting our spring crop. Work starts at 6:30 p.m. and runs until dusk. Bring your gloves and enjoy the outdoors with us!
Habitat for Humanity Blitz Build (May 24 and 25)- The goal of this event is to build an entire house in one week. We will be building the house’s deck starting at 9 a.m. on May 24. Bring your own gloves and come bless someone in your community through service. The keys to the house will be presented to the homeowner at 6 p.m. on May 25.
Life Assembly at Joseph’s Store House (May 26)- From 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., help the Joseph’s Storehouse ministry by working in the Storehouse warehouse, loading cars, or providing couseling to those in need. This event is open to anyone over 10 years old and requires closed-toe shoes.
