Beauty in Pain

BIBLE TEXT:  In His kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, He will restore, support, and strengthen you, and He will place you on a firm foundation.  All power to him forever!  Amen. — 1 Peter 5:10

PERSONAL REFLECTION:
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where the circumstances were confusing no matter which angle you to tried to view them? Or maybe your life made an unexpectant turn without any warning? You tried to think it through, figure it out, put all the tiny, dime-size puzzle pieces in order to view the “big picture,” but the more you tried the more frustrated you became.

The words “I don’t know” have always been the official white flag of defeat when it comes to difficult times in my journey. I have to know why! I feel stuck in thick mud if I am unable to rationalize my situation or feelings. But when I surrender, the heavy burden of anxiety that plagues my heart  is released, and although I do not have my answer, my spirit is renewed.
God is not a god of confusion. He is very much in control whether it is a test of faith, a push to move forward when fear tries to sneak in, a call to halt when we are traveling too fast, or a simple submission to His presence and power. We do not have to figure it out. Our path has already been carved out for us! The Lord knows our every step, high and low; every sunny day, every rainy day, He provides for every season.

PERSONAL APPLICATION: If you are turning your wheels at full force trying to produce an answer to whatever question or position you have found yourself in, try throwing your white flag up to the “I don’t know” and allow God to complete His work. Trust God. Listen to His whisper. May all of your fears be silenced by His supremacy. You are the apple of His eye and in the palm of His hand. TRUST HIM.

PRAYER:
Father,
Thank you because we can trust in You, where true peace pours out over us in every moment. Thank you because we do not have to figure out what step to take next, but only decide to hold Your hand as You lead us. Father,  please help us to be humble and allow You to have Your way with our lives. You alone know Your plans, and I pray that Your peace may replace any fear that tries to take root in our hearts. Thank You again, for Your ways are higher than our own.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

I’m Britney and my husband’s name is Andres. We have three kids: Donavan, Chloe, and Serenity. I really like to cook, work in the yard, fish, and watch movies. I enjoy going to the Chinese buffet and eating real Mexican food. I love music and sing as loud as I can when I am driving. My poor kids! Two of my absolute favorite things to do include drinking coffee on the front porch at 5:00 in the morning and hanging out with family and friends and just enjoy the time being spent with them.
