BIBLE TEXT:  Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”  – 1 Corinthians 10:31

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”  – Matthew 6:33

PERSONAL REFLECTIONThis life is so hurried.  We are running our children to a myriad of places.  We have schedules that don’t seem to make time for much but a whole lot of something.  I am finding that life will certainly pass me by if I don’t do something about my day to day living.  You see, I am also caught in this rat race and some days it is just impossible to see the forest from the trees.

One of the things I love most about being on the mission field is how much slower paced life seems to be.  My thoughts are more centered on Christ.  My time is wisely spent doing Kingdom work.  I am praying on a daily basis.  So, what happens to all of that when I get home?  Aren’t I the same person there on the field as I am here in America?  Sadly, I’m not. What’s the difference you ask?  I’ll tell you….. I am intentional on the mission field.  I’m choosing God above everything else.  I am shutting the outside world out and making time to renew my soul.

I can choose to be the same way here in America. It is my choice to put the Lord first in all that I do.  I say no to the things that do not matter and yes to the things that do.  I ask myself if what I am using up all my time on is making an eternal difference.

If you take a survey of your day would you see that you are using your time in things that have an eternal impact or are you caught in the rat race and need to prune some things from your life?

Father God,

Help me to choose my days wisely. Help me to be intentional about spending time with you so that my soul my be renewed.  Help me to say no to the things that don’t matter and yes to the things that do. I want only to be a powerful vessel for you.
In Jesus’ name Amen!

I am a homeschooling mom to three beautiful kiddos.  My husband and I are the mission directors at Life Assembly.  I am not sure what spare time is but sure would love to find out about it.  I love the Lord with everything in me and have the most amazing, fulfilled life one could only dream of having — only because of Jesus.

Paul Tripp always says, “Life is made up of a million small moments. If God is not in those small moments then he’s not a part of your life.” It’s so true that we focus on the wrong things rather than living with an eternal perspective.

    Thanks for sharing.
