BIBLE TEXT: Because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.       –James 1:3

PERSONAL REFLECTION: There have been many times that I have prayed asking for a solution or some provision. Seemingly, God often waits until the very last minute to offer answer to that prayer. We always wonder why He waits…why can’t He just fix it when we ask? What’s the purpose of Him waiting? I believe God uses these times for growth and to test our faith. He wants to see if we will hold fast to His promises and our belief that He will provide or if we will turn to other things to provide for ourselves. When we can hold onto Him through trials and all our human worry and anxiety, then He is all the more glorified. It’s through times of need and uncertainty that we draw closer to Him. Think of the last time God came through in the final hour for you. Oh, how much louder you sang His praises! How many more people did you proclaim God’s greatness to? He loves and cherishes how you honor HIM.

PERSONAL APPLICATION: The one thing that I have learned through times of needing patience and faith is that it is completely pointless to worry about the outcome. God does not leave nor forsake. Does that mean that everything comes up roses whenever we have to wait? Nope. Sometimes the answer isn’t what we wanted. However, the answer IS always for our good. Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. Psalm 27:14 (NLT)

PRAYER: Thank you, Father, for always having good in mind for me. My human nature is to worry, be anxious, and a lot of times take back that which I have already given to you. Please help me remember that your ways are always higher than mine and if I would just let you work your will in my life, I will never need to worry about what tomorrow holds.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
