BIBLE TEXT: Acts 2:2 (NKJV): “And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.”
PERSONAL REFLECTION: At around 1:30 am on Saturday morning, March 23rd, I was walking around the prayer trail at Life. I couldn’t help but to be inspired by the flagpole on the property as the trail passes very close to it. The pole had a bit of majesticness to it as the spotlights shone upwards from its base. However, I noticed that the flag was not waving at all. In fact, the flag was lying so flat against its pole that I had to walk a little further around the pole just to make sure the flag was still attached.
Then the Holy Spirit spoke to me, “The flag does not wave if there is no wind.” My immediate response to God was, “Of course not. How could it? That is a ridiculously basic thought.” Then the Lord spoke to me again and showed me that many of His “followers” are just like that windless flag.
You see, often times we block the wind of the Holy Spirit from giving us boldness. We ignore the Lord’s promptings to speak out or to pray for someone. Perhaps we do not want to feel uncomfortable or be judged, but when we finally decide to let the Holy Spirit refresh us He not only blows away the dead things in our life but He lifts our head, raises us up, and places fire and boldness in our hearts to change lives.
Do you want to be on the front lines? If so, then raise your standard high. Stand? We shall! Battle? We are in! Fight? We will!
PERSONAL APPLICATION: Lord, my fire burns for You. I have seen You do many miracles over the last 6 months and my expectations are crazy-high to see everything else You have in store this year.
PRAYER: Father, use me!
